The Corner
So I noticed something today as I let out my 3pm yawn, stretch, and sigh in an attempt to ensure I haven't fossilized... I spend countless hours staring at my computer at work. The computer is situated so that if removed I would be starring into a corner. Then I thought... when I was a little girl I remember watching shows that showed people with dunce caps on facing a corner. Is there a correlation?I got up and walked around my office for a minute and yes... the majority of people have their computer's in a corner too. In having this 3pm stretch, I realized that I can hear people quietly talking behind me sometimes while at my desk, but my position would show that I'm shutting them out... or have been punished not to participate until my work is finished. Instead I basically stare at a virtual wall in front of a real wall... all day... what does this say about society... that we are a bunch of dunces? :)
