The Secretary
Unlike Pam in The Office, we have a secretary that sits at our front desk to be the gatekeeper of the security entrance of the KMC (where I work). I must not have made a good impression the first day of work about a month ago when I told her that I didn't have security clearance to get in and that I would need her help to do so. Upon this request, she let out an exasperated groan and pushed back her chair to slowly go to the door (about 10 yards away) to swipe her card and let me in.
I couldn't quite believe that someone would act this way, if it was her job, but to avoid making her get up again, the next day when I still didn't have clearance, I just waited outside for someone who did to let me in, instead of asking the secretary.
Since then, I have tried to say hello and goodbye to her as I walk in and out, but she never looks at me to do so, or responds to my greetings. Now, it is like a challenge... how to crack the secretary and make her my friend. Any suggestions?

Doesn't everyone love flowers? Of course, then she could be allergic and hate you more, so, you know... *snort
:)
If all else fails, I've found that sharing food is a great foundation for building friendships. Try doing lunch. Ask her for a suggestion on where to go. She needs your love.
