Pain Threshold

Lately I have had the opportunity to test my pain threshold. I have thought that I do have quite a high pain tolerance, but it simply amazes me what the body can take before it just shuts down completely. So what is your pain threshold?... Maybe I don't have as high of a tolerance as I thought...

Having my hair pulled while my face is being pinched at the same time is kinda painful, but I can take it.

The Texas heat and humidity combo is a lot more painful than I ever thought it would be... but somehow I survived El Salvador for 18 months without AC, so it can be done.

If I had experienced labor, I might say that was my pain threshold, but I don't know what that is like. A c-section wasn't so fun to recover from, but I was surprised how fast I recovered.

I've had a hard time pushing myself to run 3 miles non-stop lately. I used to do it all the time, but I'm always so tired that running more than 2 miles straight seems to exceed my pain threshold. :(

I think I have a high pain threshold.

Having Compartment Syndrome (where my leg was going to explode) was horrible, pain killers didn't do much and I didn't sleep three nights cuz it hurt so bad. Having the doctor tell me that that is one of the worst pains you can have wasn't too cool.

Having a bone marrow biopsy with out a sedative was pretty bad too. But I did it!

So I think I am up there!

Yeah, I knew Jared would be at the top of the list...

I went off my headache meds to do the cleanse and find any food allergies... and it reminded me of the mission/grad school before I found my meds. Constant pain, sluggishness, and nothing I did seemed to make it go away. So I kept trying to live my life and not complain, even though at every step I thought I would pass out. But last night was the straw that broke the camels back... I decided that there really is no way for me to decide what food affects me when I'm constantly sick... so I took them again... and alas I'm back the the drawing board. :(

Also, I had a spinal tap once- OUCH Charlie!
