Words
I was driving home the other day and saw a word that I couldn't help but say out loud, simply because I like the sound of it. So I decided that I wanted to create a blog dedicated to words that I like:
1) snorkel- this is the word that I couldn't help but say. It makes me smile everytime I say it.
2) cantankerous- perhaps this word has been used to describe me, but it just sounds cool.
3) sassy- perhaps because I like to imagine myself this way... but it tells a story and always gets a reaction.
4) jumble- I like the idea of getting all ruffled and disoriented, and then still trying to maintain normalcy. Like people who spin around at baseball games with their head on the bat and then try to run. Niiiice.
5) chipper- I like the image this word brings... like a tree-cutter-down man up early in the forest/grove, who just inhaled the sweet scent of the morning and has little sweet smelling chips of wood giving validation to his work.
6) naughty- I always have a sneering smile when I think of this word, something about that word suggests getting in trouble in an innocent(ish) way.
7) valiant- perhaps I think of Valiant A's and all the fun I would have as a kid in church. Also, this word is just poetic, it speaks volumes and creates an aura, just in two syllables.
Word(s) that urke me:
1) panties- This word literally gets me to clench my fists.
2) don't munch- This will always generate some sort of reaction out of me... huh Laura.
3) booty call- I can't think of a more degrading reference to kissing someone.
Ok, I know there are many more... I'll be thinking and posting. :)

So off they went to the unemployment office together.
When asked his occupation, Olaf answered, "Panty Stitcher". I sew de elastic onto de ladies cotton panties".
The clerk looked up 'Panty Stitcher' on his computer and finding it classified as 'unskilled labor', gave Olaf $80.00 a week unemployment pay.
Sven was next in, and when asked his occupation, he replied, "Diesel Fitter". Since a diesel fitter was a skilled job, the clerk gave Mick $160.00 a week.
When Olaf discovered that Sven was collecting double, he was furious. He stormed back into the office to find out why his friend and co-worker was getting twice his pay.
The clerk explained "Simple, Panty Stitchers are unskilled and Diesel Fitter's are skilled labor".
What skill?!! Yelled Olaf. "I sew de elastic on de panties, den Sven puts dem over his head and says:
"Yah, diesel fitter.........."
