I've been meaning to do this post for awhile. I had the most fabulous vacation... just the way that vacations were intended... in a beautiful, relaxing scenery... with about one thing to do each day, and all the rest of the time spent relaxing. Normally, when I take vacations they are just as busy or even more busy than real life and cause stress, so that when you come home, you need a vacation from your vacation. With this trip to Kauai (especially since I left the day after the marathon) I had every intention to keep my activities to a basic minimum... read, relax, and play at the beach... and that's just what I did. It's the only vacation I've had where at the end of the trip I wasn't ready to go home. I'd love to go back again some day...
Here are the major things I did while I was in Kauai
- drive to visit all the cities on the island
- two hikes (Na Pali coast and Shipwreck Hike)
- catamaran sailing trip (to the Na Pali coast and back)
- visit the "blowhole" (a place where the structure of the rocks and the intensity of the surf create a natural blowhole, similar to a whales)
- boogie board at Brennecke Beach
- lots of eating out
Here are some pictures from the trip...
