Recharge
So I've been averaging a trip to Houston, TX about every four months these days. I think it comes down to a simple principle: recharge. When you see your phone with a low battery, you charge it... the same concept exists for me when I'm around my nieces. When I'm feeling a bit down and am looking to receive some unconditional love... it's time to go to Houston. It's amazing to me how much people gain from love. So let me tell you about my little princesses... (and yes, y'all I said princesses).Katie- My feisty little three year old. Katie and I have been BFFs for... well... since she was born. She is the darling, red-headed (Anne of Green Gables) Cabbage Patch Kid I always wanted Santa to bring me. I love to spoil her and play with her... and she loves to have me hold her and focus solely on her. Ever since she's gotten better at speaking, play time is so much fun. She has the cutest personality and I miss her tons when I'm away.
Lindsay- (yes another Lindsay)... she's 16 months now and just getting to the super cute stage. She has a pretty chill personality, but every now and then gives a shout to let me know, "hey I'm still here too" when Katie demands my attention. But she is so sweet and tender, and loves to cuddle up to you (for like a couple of minutes... then it's off to save the world). Not to mention she is adorable (good work Laura and Scott, two for two), but my family has said she looks a little bit like my baby pics, which makes me a little happy to think that she could possibly resemble what my future kids would look like... ok I'm convinced, I'll have one.
To sum up, I love it when babies start having their own personalities, it's so fun! And I love it when you come off the plane and have happy faces to greet you, and sad faces when you leave. It's pretty rad. So... thanks to Laura and Scott for having me over and sharing your kids. Not to mention, the secret bonus of the trip is that when the kids go to bed, I get to talk and talk to Laura, who is my best friend. :)
Also, I'm in Atlanta right now and thought I'd post something cool I saw today. I'm right across the street from the CNN building. I didn't get there in time to have a tour, but got to look around a bit. It was an awesome building. Chickety-check it out...
