Missouri
Right after I went to Oregon, I went with the other marketers to do High School visits in Missouri. We visited church sites the first day. Oh, fun fact President Valletta (my mission president) was on our flight our to Missouri with two other CES men to plan the CES travel study trip for the summer. So here are the pictures from the church sites:
Then I got to see a real tornado, I was making a school visit in a city when the sirens went off and I asked when that meant, the people at the district office said "tornado" and everyone started scattering. I went to my car and looked over my shoulder and saw the funnel, it started raining and lightening like crazy and I could barely see to drive. I pulled over to ask the women at the gas station if I should get in a basement or something, and they said, well the tornado is coming from back yonder and if your going to Kansas City, you'll barely sideswipe it if it doesn't change course. Talk about SCARY- I still couldn't see while I was driving, but just kept going because I had no where else to go. But one I got out of the eye of the tornado, it was BEAUTIFUL... the dark clouds gathering SO quickly and swirling. It was one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen. I didn't get pictures, but the next day there were tornado warnings again, so I stopped a couple of times to get pictures of the sky, because that was what it looked like before the tornado came.
